Materials have been explored creatively and are presented clearly. Comments have been made about what went well and how to improve.

A range of materials have been explored creatively and presentation is very neat and clear. Comments have been made comparing two or more materials

A range of materials have been explored creatively and successfully. Presentation is very neat and clear. The pupil demonstrates understanding of which materials would suit different purposes.
3+
A wide range of materials have been explored imaginatively and annotations clearly show understanding of processes and purposes. The pupil may have considered how different materials can portray different meanings.
4- to 5+
Some materials have been combined to create interesting effects and are clearly presented with detailed annotation and explanation of purpose and meanings.
